Suction Diffusers

Design & Operation

Spec & Tech Sheets

Spence Suction Diffuser

Benefits & Features

The suction diffuser is designed to diffuse turbulent water going into the pump by using a built-in diffuser screen. These diffusers also have veins on the discharge side to act in order to promote laminar flow of water to the pump, decreasing turbulence. The suction diffuser will eliminate the need for an elbow; and a reducer between the supply pipeline and the pump inlet.

Triple Duty Valves

Design & Operation

Spec & Tech Sheets

Spence Triple Duty Valves

Benefits & Features

The triple duty valve is three valves in one; a check valve that provides one direction flow; a balancing valve which moderates the downstream flow; and a shutoff valve for pump isolation.

Check Valves

Design & Operation

Spec & Tech Sheets

Spence Double Door Check Valve

Benefits & Features

Check Valves are installed in pipeline systems to allow flow in one direction only. With independent springs, check valves optimize valve plate closing rates while also minimizing spring stress. Preventing the possibility of flooding or reverse flow on system shutdown, these valves are operated entirely by the reaction of the fluid surface area and therefore do not require any external undertaking. Spence offers double door as well as wafer silent check valves.

Foot Valve

Design & Operation

Spec & Tech Sheets

Spence Foot Valve

Benefits & Features

The foot valve is a globe check valve with a basket screen element, bolted to the inlet side of the valve. It is usually submerged in the medium, providing a strainer like function while reducing surges, reverse flow and water hammer conditions. The spring is removed from the valve to minimize excessive draw from the pump.
